Many Thanks from Trinity College candidates ISE II

Here there are some pictures that show the infinite gratitude to our language assistant Clare for the specific preparation of the Oral skills, Speaking & Listening for all those of our students that are taking the exam ISE II from Trinity College London.

Thank you for all your help in making possible that our students have self-confidence when speaking English. You have achieved that most of them speak English without a shadow of shyness that they had before and much more fluently!

It's been great to have shared those enjoyable, amusing and funny oral activities throughout the whole year in our English classes with you!!!

Thank you very much Clare!!!

Best wishes to you!!!

St Patrick's Day 2017* and 5 green idioms

Hello everybody,
We have a very special holiday coming up

It's Saint Patrick's Day

I have some fun facts about St. Patrick's Day
that I want to share with you.

St. Patrick was the patron saint of Ireland.
He was a Christian missionary.

We always celebrate St. Patrick's Day on March 17
On Saint Patrick you have to wear green
or you might get pinched!

Green is the symbol of springtime, and in Ireland,
it symbolizes hope and good things to come in the future.

We use the Leprechaun to symbolize St. Patrick's Day.

A Leprechaun is an Irish legend,
it's a fairy that looks like a little old man.
He's about two feet tall and dresses like a shoemaker.

Stories say that Leprechauns are magical.
They are really hard to catch,
but if you do catch one, they give you three wishes!

Wow! I would love to meet a real leprechaun!
How cool!

Did you know that the shamrock is the national symbol of Ireland?
It's different from a four leaf clover
because shamrocks only have three leaves.

Four leaf clovers are really hard to find!
Some people search clover patches for thousands of years,
and never find one!

Remember shamrock only have three sides!

People jig and dance to the music of the harp.
The Harp is the national instrument of Ireland!

Many towns have St. Patrick's Day Parades!

On Saint Patrick's Day we have fun with leprechauns, shamrocks and harps.
And we remember a godly man, called Saint Patrick.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Don't forget to wear green!

Bye

Project: Speaking English around the World A Journey to English Speaking Countries

Students of 1 ESO recently completed and then presented a project that we developed on English speaking countries. Researching where the English language is used around the world generated the interest of our students and provided an insight into the culture of those particular countries.
The presentation of the project to the rest of the class allowed individual members of each group to speak and explain their work. The small number of students in each group ensured that all were given an opportunity to speak in English.
Moreover, the presentation of each country through PowerPoint by different groups ensured that all the students received information on not just one but a number of English speaking countries.

Countries our students chose to explore included: Ireland, England, United States of America, South Africa, Australia
